HOW TO PREVENT ACNE AND PIMPLES

Hello friends as a beauty editor ,  I have often encountered friends and colleagues who that have acne and pimples and are at a loss at how to prevent them , hence this article........                                                       Pimples are tiny skin lesions or inflammations of the skin. They usually develop after blackheads or whiteheads become clogged and infected. They may appear as deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) on the face, neck, chest, back and sometimes shoulders.
Before we begin to learn about how to prevent acne and pimples it is important to understand how pimples are formed.
Acne sebaceous gland follicles
There are oil glands on our chest, face and back numbering in the thousands. In fact, between the nose and cheek areas there are as many as two thousand oil glands every square inch. The function of these oil glands is to lubricate the skin by producing oil, or sebum. Oil that is produced in the glands flows through follicles or tiny ducts to the surface of the skin.
In acne sufferers, the uneven shedding of dead skin cells constantly clog the oil glands. Bacteria then invades the area, feeding on the sebum resulting in a blemish (or internal lump). Our bodies respond by fighting the bacteria with white blood cells. As these cells die off they form puss which builds up, swelling the area, resulting in a pimple. At this stage the pimple can develop further into nodules and cysts that go deep into the skin. These can be quite painful and even lead to scars.
Acnezine is a skin care management system that has been highly successful in preventing pimple breakouts by attacking the root of the problem. It consists of a skin anti-oxidant taken orally and a moisterizing cream containing benzoyl peroxide, one of the first proven treatments for acne which has been used for decades.
In addition to whatever treatment you are using and advice you have sought, here are 5 basic tips that will go a long way in helping you prevent acne and pimples:
  1. Commit to a strict regimen - Depending on the day’s activities, set specific times to wash your face with a suitable cleanser (Avoid oil & alcohol based cleansers as they leave your skin dry and tight). Note that over-washing may lead to your skin producing even more oil. When it comes to applying skincare products, avoid oil-based ones. If your dermatologist prescribes a skincare regimen, sticking to it will produce the best results in the long-term.
  2. Avoid contact with your face - Our hands are consistently "dirty". Unless absolutely necessary, avoid touching your face. By doing so, you are preventing bacteria and dirt from clogging your skin pores. In addition, those with long hair should try keeping your hair from direct contact with your face as our hair traps dust and dirt throughout the day.
  3. Do not allow sweat to linger - Those with sporty lifestyles should as far as possible wipe away excessive sweat from the skin during exercise. After exercise, it is important to use a mild face cleanser to get rid of dirt and dried sweat as soon as possible. Consider using a gentle exfoliate to remove dead skin once or twice a week.
  4. Avoid scratching, pinching & squeezing - While it might look inviting to pop that irritating pimple on your face, doing so might lead to permanent scarring and leave the spot redder and more swollen.
  5. Seek early treatment - In most cases, severe acne problems can be avoided through seeking early treatment from a qualified dermatologist. Having your dermatologist prescribe a regimen of surgical treatments, skincare products and constant review will accelerate the healing process as well as prevent future breakouts

COMMON FASHION MISTAKES AND HOW TO AVOID THEM

Even the world’s most desired labels and stylists will not help you if you get some of the basics wrong. Here are some common mistakes and how you can avoid them :
1. Unflattering colour palette: Not all skin tones are created equal. An outfit in cyan blue or flamenco red may look gorgeous on a model but do no good to your complexion. Experiment with different colours and stick to shades that flatter you the most, irrespective of what’s in fashion. Here’s a guide on what will suit you best based on your skin tone.
Fair skin: Light colours like beige, sea foam, rose and other pastels are recommended for you. Creamy colours with a hint of peach will work wonders. Mix bright and colourful pieces with more subtle hues. If you have dark hair, you will look absolutely stunning in rich purples, emerald greens and deep reds. Avoid blacks as they will make you look washed out.
Golden skin: It is a few shades darker than light skin. Any colour looks gorgeous on this skin tone. Try colourful pieces, such as sage green pants, during the day. For the evening go with subtle yet powerful hues like green or girly pink. Any shade of blue looks beautiful too. Black, the most slimming, simple and intriguing of all colours, looks great on you.
Bronze skin: It’s that beautiful “I just got back from Goa” skin tone. Turquoises, oranges and pinks look best on you. Any colour that’s a mix between two others is the key. It plays up your tanned look. If you dare to do so, try a shade of red and steal the spotlight.
Dark skin: Your type of skin looks beautiful against semi-rich colours. Avoid very dark shades. Plums, ruby reds and forest greens look amazing. For noticeable contrast, mix in an ivory piece. It is very flattering to your skin.
2. Wearing a size too small: A good mantra to follow is: If it doesn’t fit, don’t wear it. Squeezing yourself into a smaller size may feed your vanity but will only make you appear fatter than before. What matters is the fit, not the size. Your clothes should not only look good but also make you feel comfortable and confident. Opt for clothes that fit right or get them custom-made to suit your dimensions.
3. Inappropriate makeup: Makeup is an essential part of your grooming and should complement your outfit and the occasion. Keep it light during the day and when going to work by skipping the foundation and opting for an all-over moisturiser, concealer for problem spots, mascara, lip gloss and eye liner. Heavy makeup should be restricted to evening dos. It is best to stick to sheer makeup using mineral products if you are headed for a more sporting encounter, such as a game of tennis.
4. Worn-out shoes: Old, unpolished or unkempt shoes can spoil your look completely. Invest in a good, long-lasting pair and keep it polished and looking good-as-new. It is wise to store your shoes in individual boxes or in a shoe rack and air them from time to time.
5. Broken nails, chipped nail polish: To ensure that you have clean, well-trimmed nails at all times, have clippers and a nail filer in your handbag or at your work desk in case of emergencies. Paint over chipped nail polish or, better still, remove it and apply a fresh new coat. Stick to conservative shades for work and save the sparkling/neon/funky looks for parties, weekends and vacations. Invest in a good brand when it comes to nail colours and remover to ensure they do not weaken or discolour your nails in the long run.
6. Underarm stains: Invest in a good deodorant/antiperspirant. You may have to try a few on to find the one that works for you. And you may even need to change your brand depending on the changes in your chemistry, such as after having a baby, while starting new medication or when going through menopause. If you perspire heavily, consider using dress shields to prevent stains.
7. Slips that play peek-a-boo: Buy slips in various lengths to cover different hemlines and replace them as soon as the elastic shows signs of wearing off. Discretion is the key when it comes to slips, so opt for colours that you tend to wear more often—black, navy, beige and white. After all, you want to tone down the sheerness of your garment, not draw attention to the colour of your slip.
8. Ill-fitting underwear: Now that’s a no-no. Make sure your lingerie fits like a glove, or the discomfort will show through. Your bra should fit snugly around your girth even with one or two fingers placed inside. If you’re having a hard time putting a finger under the band, loosen up the hook. If it continues to be tight, try a bigger band size. If the band can be pulled away from your body easily or if it rides up your back, look for a smaller size. If you raise your arms up, the bra should stay against your body and not lift up or off. If your bra fits correctly, it should not be uncomfortable to wear. If, in addition to this, you need help, seek the advice of trained fitters who are available at many lingerie stores .(Culled from Fashion Style)
