Lipstick Shades: How to Pick the Right Ones
"If I had to teach someone just one thing about lip color it would be this: Find a lipstick that looks good on your face when you are wearing absolutely no makeup." -- Bobbi Brown, Beauty

You can't really pick the one right color for lip stick. It depends on what style or look you like. Almost any lip stick will look good. It also depends on what you're wearing. If you're wearing cool colors then you should try pink lip glosses (possibly cultured by MAC) and if you're wearing warm colors then you should try a neutral beige that's kind of orangey (love nectar by MAC). The MAC colors are really nice. I happen to like the texture and application sponge of their tinted lipglasses vs their lustre glosses.
Am I a romantic, YES! Do I love weddings ? Definitely YES  !! Did I love Kemi's wedding ?YES! YES!! YES!!!
Kemi's wedding was one I really looked forward to. I met Kemi a few days to her wedding during the makeup trial . I liked her persona, she was openminded ,confident and had an idea of how she wanted her face to look on her big day.I really couldn't wait to get started.

I loved the colors she chose :yellow, coral and white. From the very beginning of our makeup session, I was loving  the blends of colours I used for her eyes. From gold and dark grey eyeshadow on the eyelids to the silver at the inner corners of her eyes, to make her eyes pop  and then contouring with brown .They all came out nicely.

For her lips , I opted for a wine liner and then a raspberry shade lipstick mixed with red.
All in all ,she looked really beautiful. Need I mention that she liked her makeup ? She loved it ......

The white and gold gele (head tie)  also came out beautifully. It was carefully tied with round layers in front to bring emphasis to her  face.
I had a good time, lots of fun. It was a fantastic wedding and good food too! *wink*

HOW TO TIE A GELE (Head tie or scarf)

The head tie or "Gele" as it is popularly called is worn by a large proportion of women in Africa .Whether it is for occasions such as weddings or everyday life, women can show their pride in their African heritage by wearing a gele.

THINGS YOU NEED

Gele or six feet of 12 - inch fabric

Pins (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

·         Straighten the gele out neatly and then fold one edge of the gele in a bit. Ensure it is evenly done. Grasp one end of the gele in your right hand and the other end in your left hand. Lower your head and position the back of your head in the middle of the gele and then tie it round the head from the back.

·         Wrap around the head and make sure it is tight and secure to form the layers shape in front.

·         Crunch the front and then fold gently to create layers. Tie the back ends tightly into a double knot.

·         Crunch the ends to give it shape. Check the gele to be sure it is firm and properly tied.

·         Tuck in any loose strands of hair around your face.

·         Arrange the extra material. By extending this material upward, you can create an elaborate look. Or, you can tuck the extra material into the wrap to create a more conservative look. It depends on your preference.

BEAUTY TALK

NATURAL MAKEUP
This is one that uses the colours that is right for the skin tone and gives a natural look. How much makeup you use depends on your person.
Make sure your your concealer is yellow in tone since it mutes imperfections without adding colour.Use a liquid or stick foundation and blend evenly with a foundation brush.

Apply eye makeup in earthly tones, beige, brown and charcoal gray for liner and mascara. Skip liner or shadow entirely if you want to keep makeup simple. C hoose blush that is close to colour of your cheeks after you have excercised.

NB: FIRST CLEAN AND MOISTURISE YOUR FACE . DON’T SKIMP ON MAKE UP TOOLS BECAUSE BETTER TOOLS MAKES APPLYING MAKEUP EASIER AND FASTER.

BEAUTY TALK

  MAKEUP

Are you a makeup person? Do you have to wear makeup every time you step out of the house? Or maybe you even have to wear makeup in the house?

What does your husband or partner think about you wearing/not wearing makeup?

I have heard of some cases where husbands/partners only like their women with makeup on and they even have to wear it to bed.

Thoughts?

Oh! Just wanted to add...are you brand loyal when it comes to makeup?

Wanna know your views ......

 Have  a great weekend !

WEDDING HAIR AND MAKEUP

ARE HAIR AND MAKEUP TRIALS NECESSARY ?

It is not necessary but recommended as it gives you a chance to see the hair stylist and makeup artist at work. It is also an opportunity to try out any looks you may  have in mind for your special day. If it's not your normal go-to stylist \ artist, a trial is worth it. It will help you realize what you do and don't like on yourself and give you one less thing to worry about on your wedding day.

Another thing to keep in mind.....the day flies by. You may think you have hours, but it's going to go by in a blink of an eye. If you don't have things nailed down, you're going to get stressed quickly. . However, if you are happy to book your wedding without a trial ,that is also great! Some trials are not free and it will be a chance to save money.

I would love to hear from you.
xoxo

INTO THE LIPSTICK

Lipstick Shades: How to Pick the Right Ones

If I had to teach someone just one thing about lip color it would be this: '' Find a lipstick that looks good on your face when you are wearing absolutely no makeup." -- Bobbi Brown, Beauty

Hello ! We know choosing a lipstick colour is the most difficult job ever! Well, here's making it a little easy. The best way to choose the right shade is by trying on lipsticks with no makeup on your face at all ! This has been the best trick in the history of choosing lipsticks .

The most flattering shade would be one or two shades darker than the natural shade of your lips.Red and pink shades come out nicely on the lips. For picking the right shade of red, firstly , BELIEVE that you CAN wear a red lipstick . It's not that difficult to carry it off. Picking the right shade for your skin tone is very important, though.

Pink skinned girls should opt for cherry red, those with olive skin can wear fire-engine red. Dark skin looks great with deep reds. It's best not to match lips to your outfit.

If you hate the red lipstick you just bought, don't worry , here's away to try and make it work for you. If the shade is too bright, try and blend it in with the darker shades of lipstick that you already have with you.

Don't outline your lips with a red lip liner, instead blend it in , apply it before you put the lipstick. This would help the lipstick stay and not wear off so quickly.

Thanks for all the comments, will love  to hear from you soon.

BLESSED

Hello every one,

This post is about one of the nicest ladies I have ever met. Maltida is chocolate skinned with good facial features and kind eyes. Maltida is so warm, you can feel her warmth from accross a large room . I was  very impressed that she was very down to earth despite the fact that she was an ex-beauty queen .

I enjoyed every minute of our makeup session.

*Wink*

 Enjoy the pictures!!

My Cute Ile-Ife Bride

Hello Darlings,
Welcome!

Here is another post of my beautiful work of “heart”. Only this time, my canvass is cute Nike. She is beautiful and homely. It was two days of fun and I enjoyed the experience. She had a great face and I couldn’t wait to get started.
I wanted her to look divine, her lips to look fuller and sexy, since she has got small lips and then open up her eyes a bit. I really loved the whole makeup session.

Enjoy the pictures *wink*.

Beauty, Joy and laughter

Welcome Darlings!

I was browsing through  pictures of  our make up jobs and decided to share some of them with my CBB readers .
This post is about  Bunmi and her makeup session  for her special day  done by us  .
The first time ever I saw Bunmi , I met her through her brother and she gave me a gift. Little did I know that I would be her makeup artist , some years to come  . Bunmi is a beautiful woman with a great smile . I opted for the bold smokey look for her engagement and then a  simple yet classy look for her  for wedding makeup.

Did she like her makeup ..........your guess is as good as mine .
Enjoy the pictures , I hope you feel the excitement , joy and laughter .
